“You mean this isn’t the DMV?”

That’s a question we hear quite a bit at Driver Training Associates.  So why do people think that we’re the DMV?  It must be because we provide traffic school, driver education, and license reinstatement courses.  We’re not exactly sure why so many people assume that traffic schools and other similar programs are run by the state Department of Motor Vehicles, but hopefully this article will set the record straight on that subject. As many states are tightening up their requirements for driver licensing, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has also recently followed suit.  Florida teens who are looking to get their first learner’s permit should take note of the documents that will now be accepted as proof of identity or residential address so that they will not waste a trip to their local driver license office. Mark Lindsay, driving his motorcycle on U.S. 27 with passenger MacKenzie Chartrand at speeds over 110 mph, lost control and crashed, killing himself and his passenger on August 21st of last year.  Lindsay, who had racked up multiple Florida speeding tickets in the past, was driving on a suspended license.  His license had been suspended a total of eight times.
