You can sign up for the Florida Aggressive Driving Course by registering for the 8-hour traffic school course and then selecting "Aggressive Driving" as your reason for attending.
If you would like to take the course in a classroom environment, you can click here for a list of Florida classroom traffic schools. Select "aggressive driving" to locate a school in your area that offers this course, or call 1-800-558-9887.
For several years, the State of Florida has been tracking incidents of aggressive driving. When a law enforcement officer observes a driver committing two or more moving violations at the same time, he or she notes this on the Uniform Traffic Citation by checking an "aggressive driving" box.
An example of this would be when a driver is observed speeding and following too closely, or speeding and making illegal lane changes. Don't look surprised, we're sure you've seen this on the highway!
Individuals who appear in court might or might not be ordered to attend an aggressive driving course. The traffic court judge reviews their case, evaluates the severity of their offenses, and makes a determination as to whether an aggressive driving course is warranted.
If you have been ordered to attend an aggressive driving course, you will have received an administrative order from the court indicating that this is the type of course you need. If you would are not sure which type of course you need, call DTA at 1-800-558-9887.
