Florida Drug and Alcohol Course Online

About Your Certificate of Completion

Florida drug and alcohol course certificate of course completion

After you successfully complete the Florida online drug and alcohol course, you will be able to download your certificate of completion in PDF format. You can keep this certificate for your records; however, the driver license office will not accept a printed certificate as proof of course completion.

Proof of completion occurs when we report your completion to DHSMV, which is done immediately after you finish the course. Please note that it can take up to 24 hours for your completion to show up in the State's database.

When you go to the driver license office, the examiner will search for your drug and alcohol course completion in the State's database. If your completion has not yet been uploaded, you will have to return later to finish applying for your license.

How to Verify that Your Drug and Alcohol Course Has Been Reported to DHSMV

You can visit the DHSMV Traffic School Completion Check page before you go to the driver license office to make sure your completion is in the State's database.

You will need to type your date of birth and the last 4 digits of your social security number into the fields in the area marked "traffic law substance abuse education." If your completion has been reported successfully, you will see a record of it on the results page.

Florida Online Driver License Test No Longer Available

Florida teens are now required to take their Class E driver license test at a Florida driver license office. This is the test on road signs and road rules.

In the past, high school students could take this test online after completing their drug and alcohol course. This was part of a pilot program that ran from 2004 to 2010. DHSMV canceled the program at the end of 2010.

At this time, there are no plans to re-activate the online driver license test.
