Most customers who take our online Texas defensive driving course choose to receive their completion certificate via the fastest method available – electronic delivery. This service is also FREE. If you select this method of delivery, your certificate will be sent to the e-mail address you provide when you register for the course. Your certificate will be an Adobe PDF file that you can save to your computer and print at your convenience.
E-mailed certificates are sent out at 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM CST each business day (Monday to Friday, excluding holidays). Weekend and holiday completions will be sent out on the following business day.
If you do not have a printer or you wish to have a certificate mailed to you instead of sent via e-mail, you can select the U.S. mail delivery option when you register, or call to request this option while you are taking the course. We charge $5.00 for the processing of your physical certificate and you should receive it within 3-5 business days. Please note that certificates sent via U.S. mail are processed at 3:00 PM CST each business day (Monday to Friday excluding holidays). Weekend and holiday completions will be sent out the following business day.
Every student who completes the defensive driving online Texas course for a traffic ticket will receive a two-part completion certificate. The top part is labeled "court," which should be turned into the court per the instructions you received from the Texas court. We also recommend that you make a copy of this in the event that it is lost.
The lower part is labeled "insurance," which should be copied for your records and given to your auto insurance agent if they offer driver safety course discounts. Most regulated insurance companies in Texas offer up to 10% for 3 years for completing a state approved defensive driving online Texas course.
Important: Texas defensive driving course providers do not report defensive driving online course completions to the State or to Texas courts. We send the completion certificates to you, and it is your responsibility to make sure the court receives your completion certificate on or before your due date.
If you select insurance reduction as your reason for attending the course, you will receive a single insurance-only certificate to present to your auto insurance provider.
To receive your discount, you must complete the Texas traffic school course and present the insurance certificate (lower portion of the two-part certificate) to your auto insurer. We also recommend that you contact your insurance agent to make sure you are eligible to receive the discount and find out how much of a discount you will receive.
Texas traffic schools do not report defensive driving course completions to the State or to Texas courts. It is your responsibility to make sure the court receives your completion certificate on or before your due date.
